Day 7/8

Well, things here have been going great!!!

Despite some stomach problems that have been going around everyone is in good spirits and God is continuing to do great things!

Today we spent the day outside of the city in villages. It was a great experience for the students to get out of the city and minister! We had lunch at a pastor's house and enjoyed some fresh pork taco's...yummy=)

We have seen several more people come to accept Christ and while I'm not exactly sure of the precise total, I believe it's somewhere in the 20's for the trip to date. It continues to amaze me how God uses the testimonies of these students to move so many people! They have been stepping out in boldness and faith so much! I am so proud of them!!!

Even last night, when the teams split up and team 1 went to a men's rehab center and team 2 went to an orphanage. Team 1 had an amazing time of ministry! Team 2 on the other hand performed their program but had to eave the orphanage earlier then expect, but even in the middle of that situation, the students remained positive and choose to trust God to water the the seeds that had been planted there!

Please continue to pray for us. We only have 2 more days of ministry left here in Merida and about this point in the trip the temptation can often be to put it on cruise control, but we want to fight that and continue to press in for all that God has for us in our time here!

We love you and appreciate all of yours prayers!!!

Day 2

Well day 2 has come and gone. Today we wasted no time diving head first right into things!

We started the morning with breakfast and a time of worship and after a short time of teaching we broke off into quiet time. After that some more teaching and ministry prep and lunch before we headed off to our first time of ministry!

For our first ministry both teams headed off to the home of a pastor who opens up his home on Thursdays to women and children of men whose husband's have either had a history of drug and alcohol abuse or are in jail. Ministry was AWESOME!!! Team 1 did some dramas and testimonies with the adults and had the opportunity to pray with about 30 people for various things!!! Praise God!

During this time, team 2 (my team and of course the best team!!), got to spend some time loving on the kids of these families. A lot of the kids were pretty shy when we first got there, but by the time we left most of them were smiling and laughing and having a great time! The arts and crafts and ballon animals may have had something to do with it, but I think we all know that it's the love of Jesus that changes things! It's so good to see the love of Jesus at work flowing through the lives of these students!!! His love really is the only thing that has the power to save a life!!!

Well, it's getting late and I'm off to enforce lights out...I can't wait to get some sleep! On that note, most of us are doing a lot better today after a good nights rest! Thank you for your prayers! We feel and appreciate them!!!

Here are a few of the pics from todays ministry time as a pic of the hotel we're staying in...

We love you! Thank you for your continued prayers! We cannot do this without you!!!

Day 1 has come to a close

Well, we've finally arrived here in Merida, MX safe and sound. It has been a long journey and not without some hardships. Two of our original team members who had planned to be on this trip are not with us. It was extremely hard leaving them, but we know that God is good and we will trust Him no matter what.

It's been a long day of travel in airports and buses. We look forward to a good night's rest as we'll be hitting the ground running hard tomorrow.

Myself and the rest of the leaders, students and ywam staff are jazzed to see what God has in store for this trip!!! We all feel like it is something big given the obstacles we have already faced.

Pray for us tonight. Pray that our sleep would be peaceful and that we would be rejuvenated and ready for all God has in store for us tomorrow!

Thank you for your prayers and support! We love you!!

Day 1

9:30 and we're in the ATL airport. Most of us are feeling the affects of the lack of sleep, but we're hanging in there. Please be praying for us. The devil is trying hard to break us, but God's grace is more than enough!!!

It is 2:39 and we're loading the bus. The trip has officially begun!!

Day 0

It's not officially Day 1, although we are less then 24 hours from departing!

Final preparations are in place, trips to Wal-Mart are being made, items are being ferociously squeezed into suitcases, and meanwhile thousands of miles away in Merida, MX God is preparing to do GREAT things!

We're setting out with a purpose: to bring the Kingdom of God to earth. Journey with us, pray with and for us, and share in what God is doing and will do during this trip!
